Phonag Records is the leading Swiss label and repertoire company, working with both established and emerging artists such as Bastian Baker, Francine Jordi, Nick Mellow and Damian Lynn. With roots dating back to 1960, Phonag Records has celebrated great success as a musically diverse label and distributor, recognized for their contribution to the Swiss music market. Their catalog includes sub-label "Helvetia" which produced folk music legends such as Vreny & Franz Stadelmann and Adolf Stähli and the Trio Oesch. Phonag Records successfully established itself as the leading company in Switzerland in the field of children's music and audiobooks, with releases by cult figures such as Globi, Papa Moll and Kasperli, as well as popular children's music artists such as Andrew Bond and the Schwiizergoofen. Phonag Records works as an independent Swiss distributor for music and video, distributing physical products of renowned Swiss and international companies, including Frenetic Films, WVG, Alive, Filmcoopi and Lighthouse, and, partnering with national labels such as HitMill Records, Gadget Records, Zytglogge and H2U, as well as international companies like Edel, Kontor Records, GoodToGo, Nuclear Blast, AFM Records, Frontiers, Grönland and Epitaph.
In 2007, Phonag Records was acquired by TBA AG, and in 2019, the company decided to continue their business solely under the name Phonag Records AG. Furthermore, since 2013, Phonag Records has operated its own marketing and promotion agency, offering tailored concepts and services for the marketing and media relations of their releases in the local market. They have worked with a wide range of national and international artists and companies, including BMG Rights Management, Kontor Records, Ninja Tunes, Ignition, Tom Gregory, Joya Marleen, Amy Macdonald, Loco Escrito, Leony, Milky Chance, Stefanie Heinzmann, Boy, Lenny Kravitz, Bonobo, Fettes Brot, Katie Melua, Max Giesinger, Adel Tawil, Milow, Alt-J, Bryan Adams, and 77 Bombay Street.
